Celebrate Montagne Day

The Feast of the Dying Boy

Join Marist Youth USA on Wednesday, October 28th in celebrating the day Marcellin Champagnat was moved to change the world. Jean-Baptist Montagne was the dying boy Marcellin visited in his first few months of priesthood. Marcellin was shocked when he realized Jean-Baptist did not know who God was. Although Marcellin could not stop the boy from dying, Champagnat decided it was time to start the Marist Brothers to educate young people and make Jesus known and loved. Tune in to the Marist Youth USA Youtube channel at 10:00AM EST on 10/28/20.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Marist Young Adults present their new Marist Conversation Series. Episode 1 “Marcelin Champagnat and Marist Community” dives into how the Marist community has evolved and continues to grow today. Br. Michael Flanigan is interviewed by four Marist Young Adults: Mike Kareores (Massachusetts), Monica Estrellado (New Jersey), Danny Jimenez (New York), and Erin Stapleton (Chicago). While talking about the struggles Marist Young Adults face today, they also speak of the struggles Fr. Champagnat faced when forming the Marist Brothers as a young adult himself.
