Molloy Awarded 2025 AP Gold Status by College Board<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Molloy is excited to announce that it has been named to the 2025 AP School Honor Roll as a Gold member! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To earn placement on the AP School Honor Roll, a school must meet three metrics: College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimization. Molloy earned Gold recognition in College Culture and achieved Platinum status in both College Credit and College Optimization! During the 2024-25 school year, 72% of seniors took at least one AP Exam during high school, 62% of seniors scored a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 17% of seniors took five or more AP Exams!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. Maria Cuomo<\/strong>, Assistant Principal for Assessment, Technology, & Integrated Learning, shares, \u201cWe are incredibly proud to receive the AP Gold Access Award, which recognizes Molloy’s commitment to expanding access to rigorous college-level coursework for more students while maintaining strong performance on AP Exams.\u201d She continues, \u201cThis honor reflects the dedication of our faculty and the hard work of our students who continue to challenge themselves academically. It is a testament to our school’s ongoing efforts to provide opportunities for students to reach their full potential through AP courses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to our accepted students and their families who joined us for our Winter Open House on January 22nd! The event welcomed nearly 1,500 visitors and gave them the opportunity to meet administrators, faculty, staff, and fellow Stanners while touring our school. For many future members of the Class of 2030, the Open House helped confirm their decision to become part of the Molloy community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before learning more about academics, extracurriculars, athletics, and special programs, guests heard from senior Isabella Fortunato \u201926<\/strong>. She shared that when she attended Molloy\u2019s Open House four years ago, she immediately felt \u201ca strong sense of welcoming and family,\u201d knowing Molloy \u201cwas a place where people were supported, accepted, and challenged to accomplish their goals.\u201d Isabella emphasized that Molloy teachers \u201cgo above and beyond to make sure students feel valued and welcomed,\u201d adding that they genuinely care about each student\u2019s success and are always willing to provide the support and resources needed. Because of this, she shared, \u201cI am confident that Molloy has prepared me to take the next step in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last weekend, 79 members of the Class of 2026 attended their Senior Encounter at the Marist Brothers’ Center at Esopus! The Senior Encounter is one of Molloy’s most beloved traditions, as it is a very emotional and formative experience for our soon-to-be graduates. The seniors took time to reflect on how far they have come and where they encounter God in their lives. The weekend included impactful talks, prayer, and a game of Flag! It was a wonderful weekend that reminds us how cherished a second home Esopus is for many Stanners. We look forward to our last Senior Encounter of the school year in March!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 31st, Stanners and friends gathered for Esopus Music 22! Proceeds from this annual concert fundraiser support the Marist Brothers’ Center at Esopus and the Mid-Hudson Valley Camps. MC’d by social studies teacher Ms. Abbey Hipkin<\/strong> at The Bowery Electric, the event featured numerous Stanners, teachers, and friends as musical performers. Those who performed included Mike Erario ’00<\/strong> and Mike Barnes ’00<\/strong>, Frank Gambino ’74<\/strong> with music teacher Mr. Dan Jones<\/strong>, Stephen Velez ’16<\/strong>, and more. After running track for Frank Rienzo at Molloy (and notably with teammates including Bob Ziemenski, Tom and Pete Farrell, Gerry Cotter, Don Tiese, Dick Schroeder, and others), Bernard earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Manhattan College and a certification in accounting from Loyola University of New Orleans.
