Open House! Molloy Welcomes Families From Across NYC & Long Island
Molloy’s 2026 Open House on October 18th was an incredible success! A record number of prospective students and their families joined us to tour our campus, connect with our faculty and staff, and experience firsthand what makes Molloy so special: our Stanners!
The program opened with remarks from Principal Dr. Darius Penikas, followed by exceptional students who offered a personal look at what it means to be a Stanner. Future students then took a tour that included our science labs, Innovation Center, art room, William J. Murphy Library, and more!
Before leaving, prospective families had the opportunity to browse the Captain Anthony Marsloe Gymnasium, which housed displays of our athletic teams, clubs and activities, academic departments, and other important programs Molloy has to offer. Ms. Heather Green-Wresch, Molloy’s Executive Director of Enrollment Management, says “this year’s Open House was the most attended by families,” and that it may have been the “best one yet!” Director of Admissions Mr. Jonathan DiDonato ‘01 adds, “It was a high energy day filled with enthusiastic and exemplary students, faculty, and staff members. It seemed like every guest felt the family feel that makes Molloy so special!”
Missed Open House? There’s still a chance to visit Molloy! Reach out to our Admissions Department at admissions@molloyhs.org to schedule a private tour, and be sure to check out our Instagram highlights for a full virtual tour of the day!
Watch Our Virtual Open House
Those who were unable to attend this year’s Open House in person had an opportunity to get a special look at Molloy by way of our Instagram story! Cate, a current junior, led a virtual audience through our Open House, making all the stops on the tour, and even visiting a few additional spaces! You can view our “Insta Tour” via the video player above. Thank you, Cate!
Happy Mole Day from Our Science Department!
The Archbishop Molloy High School Science Department would like to wish you a happy Mole Day! Today marks this annual holiday for chemistry and science enthusiasts around the world. A “mole” is a unit of measure for amount of substance, (atoms, molecules, ions, etc.). The holiday is celebrated between 6:02 AM and 6:02 PM on October 23rd, representing the Avogadro constant, or the formula 6.02 x 1023. This refers to the ratio between an amount of substance and the number of particles in it.
In celebration of Mole Day, the Science Department coordinated their own special dress down theme, and Br. Roy George decorated the second floor hallway!

Team Retreats: JV & Varsity Softball
On Tuesday, October 20, Molloy’s JV & Varsity Softball teams took part in an after school athletic team retreat. The afternoon was centered around the theme of “Respect, Family, Teammates, School, & Self.” Players prayed together, shared reflections, and participated in a variety of games, challenges, and team bonding activities that helped them explore these concepts. Ultimately, our Stanners walked away from the retreat with a deeper understanding of where and how Christ is shows up in the life of a softball player. This is now the fourth year in a row that the softball program has participated in an athletic team retreat. Campus Ministry wants to send a very sincere thank you to the coaching staff and the entire softball program for their continued dedication and commitment to fostering Faith in athletics!

Another Great Zumba/Salsa Night!
On October 14th, alumni and friends enjoyed Molloy’s latest Zumba/Salsa Night! Our community enjoyed a fun Zumba workout and learned basic Salsa dancing steps — all set to a Halloween theme! Here’s a picture we forgot to share in one of our other recent Beehives (sorry guys!). More than 50 students from eight Marist schools, including Molloy, gathered at the Marist Brothers Center at Esopus for Ecology Weekend, continuing the Season of Creation’s invitation to care for Our Common Home.
Inspired by this year’s theme, “Immersion in Living Water,” students and their Green Team leaders explored the Hudson River through hands-on environmental studies, outdoor workshops and shared prayer. Their experiences invited them to consider how care for creation can become part of everyday life in their school communities.
Throughout the weekend, participants revisited their schools’ Laudato Si’ Action Plans, bringing new ideas and perspectives to the work already underway. They returned home with proposals to share with their Green Teams and school leaders, with updated plans expected by the end of November.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Donald J. “Donn” Smith ’66, who passed away on October 4, 2026. Donn lived an adventurous life. He worked as a sound and light engineer in the live music industry, touring with acts such as Blue Oyster Cult, Queen, Cream, The Who, and Jimi Hendrix, and even working the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Later in his life, he earned a degree in Landscape Design and Architecture and started his own landscape design business. He also got involved as a volunteer referee and umpire for his local town, which eventually became more of a full-time job. He was an experienced international traveler, even living in South America for a time. He was beloved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Please keep Donn and his loved ones in your prayers. | Visit Memorial Page
