“O Holy Family, serve as our model of love. May we embody your Family Spirit by opening our hearts in welcome and serving others with compassion. We shall create a home wherever we gather in community.”

Stanners Celebrate Advent Liturgy & Christmas Cheer Parade
Before beginning Christmas vacation, students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Jack Curran Gym for Molloy’s annual Advent Liturgies. Fr. Nicholas Colalella, celebrant for both the freshman/sophomore and junior/senior liturgies, reminded those in attendance that Jesus is always asking to be welcomed into our lives, we simply need to open the door. He reflected on Christ’s birth in a humble stable rather than in comfort, reminding us that Jesus is never afraid to enter into “the chaos of human existence.”
During last period, Assistant Principal Dr. Des Flynn ’97 and Mr. Frank Gambino ’74 led students, faculty, and staff – the Christmas Cheer Committee – throughout Molloy while singing Christmas songs! Dr. Flynn and Mr. Gambino have led this festive hallway parade for several years in hopes of sending everyone into Christmas break with a smile. Thank you to Dr. Flynn, Mr. Gambino, and the Christmas Cheer Committee for continuing this fun tradition!

Campus Ministry Toy Drive
In December, our community supported Campus Ministry’s Christmas Toy Drive (pictured left)! Each grade was encouraged to bring in different items ranging from new infant gifts and children’s toys, to accessories and gift cards for teens. All donations will benefit families via Ronald McDonald House Charities, which temporarily houses families while their children receive care in local hospitals. Thank you to everyone who generously supported this drive!
In addition to the Toy Drive, eight Campus Ministry volunteers (pictured right) recently participated in a Breakfast Run through Midnight Run, helping to distribute clothing, toiletries, and food to New Yorkers in need. Students were able to put faces to the struggle of homelessness while honoring the dignity of those they served. Thank you to Campus Ministry for continuing to facilitate these experiences for our students.
Coming in January – The Beehive will cover Campus Ministry’s recent international service trip to Belize!
Stanners Wear Christmas Sweaters For a Special Cause Day
On December 18th, students and faculty participated in a Christmas Sweater Dress Down! Many wore their favorite Christmas sweaters and accessories, making for a fun and light-hearted day here at Stanner High. Students who participated in the dress down each donated $5 in support of the Blue Marists in Syria. This project aims to provide essential food supplies to vulnerable households facing food insecurity. The Marist Brothers developed a nutrition program targeting Restavek children and students from low-income families, aiming to provide academic achievement by addressing food insecurity and malnutrition.
